3 Ways To Improve Your Home’s Curb Appeal This Weekend

Renew your look

It’s kind of overwhelming, isn’t it?

You hear how curb appeal improves the look of your home to your visitors and your neighbors, but it isn’t always easy knowing what improvements you should make first.

You know there’s something you could do to make your home look more appealing, but you’re not sure where to start.

The key is to simply start somewhere, and focus on the areas that can make the most impact on the beauty of your home.

There are plenty of ways to keep your home looking fresh and gorgeous. We’ve got some tips to get you started.

Renew your front door

Your front door gets a lot of traffic.

It’s also one of the first things visitors, family members, and friends see when they’re searching for your home amongst all the others on the street.

Harsh weather from the winter and summer can damage the beauty of your entrance. Over the years, normal wear and tear can leave a nice door looking a little lousy.

Repaint your front door with a gorgeous hue that separates your house from the rest in the neighborhood. Don’t be afraid of choosing something bold!

Your front porch isn’t the only place people are looking at when they spot your home from the curb.

Make a decorative focal point

There’s no denying it: an inviting front yard is also nice to look at!

You want visitors and guests to feel comfortable when they drive by to come see you.

Place a pretty bench in the front of your yard. It’s a great welcoming statement for anyone who goes by your home. Give it a nice decorative cushion and plush outdoor-friendly pillows.

You can also use a fountain or bird bath to draw their eyes toward the front of your house. Embellish the outdoor piece with plants and flowers around the bottom.

Create a mailbox garden

Most people have a standing mailbox in their yard.

It stands there, alone in the landscape, forgotten most of the time. Many see it as a practical stationary structure that’s only there for a particular purpose: to receive and send mail.

But you make it more than just that.

Create a garden around your mailbox. It’s not as hard as you might think.

Get two or three different plants to add variety to the space around the mailbox. Make sure they can handle heavy sun reflection and road salt when the winter conditions worsen.

Ivy wrapped around the mailbox stand can be especially impressive. Pro tip: Don’t be intimidated. It’s a very tough plant to kill!

Landscaping made easy

Changing your landscape isn’t always easy.

You start to make improvements here and there, and BAM!

Your mind starts to race with ideas that would make your home look more impressive.

You can picture it now: lazy afternoons with friends in your backyard, watching the kids play together on the lawn, and quiet nights watching the sunset after a long day at work.

If only you could find some way to pull it off…

Well, you can.

At Sunflower Landscapes, we’re here to turn your ideas into reality.
